Content handlingAll content in umbraco is under version control and the publishing routines are so fast, your coffee machine will wonder why you don't come by any more. Content can be edited in an editor made for web publishing; it renders standard compliant html and lets you format your text using css. But it doesn't stop there! It also automatically creates new resized versions of your images if you change the size, you can insert headlines or text-blocks written with any font and umbraco will create a graphic version as crisp as your corporate design.
It features a generic content structure making it possible to create any kinds of content types - it even comes with a slick user interface to make it happen in minutes.
Comes with Danish and English user interface, but more languages can easily be added editing a simple XML language file. Dates and system names are automatically translated using the culture settings from .NET
Clean template handling by leaving your markup aloneIt's easy to add features and because umbraco doesn't make any html by itself, it will keep your html nice and clean. Simply paste your html into any number of templates and replace your "Lorem Ipsum" texts with umbraco tags. And don't worry - you don't have to know how they work, there's user interface for everything. So spend your time clicking buttons - not reading piles of documentation!
Just add functionality using well known de-facto standardsThe limits of designs and functions are limited by the skills and imagination of your team - not the software! Through the unique macro-technology you can create functionality to your site by either transforming umbraco content with XSLT or by using your own .NET controls whether it is User Controls or Custom Controls. Not only can these macros be inserted into the templates - they can even be inserted anywhere in the content and umbraco can automatically create UI that communicate with your controls.
Want to extend or integrate - go aheadAlmost any part of the umbraco user interface can be customized and new functionality added using your favourite .NET language simply by implementing some tiny interfaces. This way it's a piece of cake integrating even complex systems into one system and one way of doing things.
It's also possible to add new applications into the umbraco user interface, by using drag'n'drop controls in Visual Studio. The user/role model can also be extended to match your app and if you choose to use the central node structure in umbraco your app will be taking fluently with the umbraco cms with a few lines of code!
So welcome to the world of umbraco - if you're still in doubt to move on,
